Overview of PEGS ESG Scoring System

PEGS ESG Scoring System

The PEGS ESG Scoring System is a comprehensive evaluation tool developed to measure the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance of real estate assets. This system references global standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), GRESB, LEED, and BREEAM to ensure a rigorous and universally applicable assessment process.

The system is structured to evaluate 15 key ESG parameters, resulting in a total possible score of 390 points. These parameters are carefully selected to reflect the most critical aspects of ESG performance in the real estate sector, providing property owners, investors, and stakeholders with a clear and actionable understanding of sustainability impacts.

PEGS ESG Score Public Disclosure

PEGS ensures transparency in the ESG scoring process by publicly disclosing the methodology and criteria used in the evaluation. This commitment to transparency allows stakeholders to understand the basis of their scores and compare performance across different properties and portfolios.

Public disclosure also serves to encourage higher standards of ESG performance across the real estate industry by making scores visible and comparable. PEGS updates the scoring criteria annually to reflect evolving global standards and best practices, ensuring that the scoring system remains relevant and aligned with current sustainability expectations.
